hiunchuli Peak Climbing

Hiunchuli(6,441 m) forms a massive south-facing wall together with, Annapurna 1 (8091 m), Annapurna South as well as other snow capped peaks. Hiunchuli lies in the Annapurna range and it is associated with Annapurna South. Found by Col. Jimmy Roberts, it is one of the three noteworthy trekking crests in the "Annapurna Sanctuary", to be named by Roberts. The mountains of this region are considered by the Gurungs who occupy the area. The other two peaks inside the sanctuary are Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak) and Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak). Mount Hiunchuli is the fourth highest peak among the ‘trekking Peaks’ and is considered one of the least difficult by expeditions.
